Unleashing Arataki Itto's True Power: My 2025 Geo DPS Guide
Master the ultimate Arataki Itto build in Genshin Impact with powerful geo damage, optimal artifacts, and versatile strategies to dominate Teyvat!
After two years of smashing through Teyvat with my favorite oni, I've finally perfected my Arataki Itto build! Let me tell you, there's nothing more satisfying than watching this geo powerhouse obliterate everything in his path with his massive club and that adorable yet deadly bull companion.
The Oni King's Power System
I've discovered that Itto's true strength comes from juggling multiple aspects of his kit simultaneously. His normal attacks build Superlative Superstrength stacks, which fuel those devastating charged attacks. But the real magic happens when you combine this with his Elemental Burst and Skill.
When I summon Ushi (that cute little geo bull) with his Elemental Skill, it deals periodic Geo damage to enemies. Then, popping his Elemental Burst while Ushi is on field creates this beautiful symphony of destruction. His attack gets a massive boost, and suddenly those normal and charged attacks are hitting like a freight train!
My Ultimate DPS Build (2025 Meta)
After extensive testing in the latest version, I've found the Husk of Opulent Dreams 4-piece set remains undefeated for our geo oni. This artifact set is practically made for him - it scales perfectly with his stats, boosting both defense and damage output over time.
For weapons, I've been switching between these depending on my team comp:
-
Redhorn Stonethresher (still his BiS in 2025!)
-
Wolf's Gravestone (great for overall ATK boost)
-
Blackcliff Slasher (F2P friendly option with CRIT DMG)
The Redhorn is particularly insane since it provides both CRIT DMG and DEF%, which are exactly what Itto craves. But honestly, don't stress if you don't have it - I cleared Spiral Abyss with Blackcliff just fine!
My Defense-Focused Tank Build
Sometimes I switch to a more defensive build when I'm playing co-op or against particularly nasty bosses. For this, I run:
- 2pc Husk of Opulent Dreams + 2pc Archaic Petra
This combination turns Itto into an absolute tank who can still dish out serious damage. I've survived some of the nastiest boss mechanics with this build while my teammates were getting one-shot! 😂
With this build, I focus on weapons that complement his high defense by adding attack and crit stats. Wolf's Gravestone or Blackcliff Slasher work perfectly here.
Artifact Stats: What Actually Matters
Look, building Itto can get complicated because he scales off both ATK and DEF, but here's my priority list after countless hours of artifact farming:
Artifact | Main Stat | Sub Stats |
---|---|---|
Sands | DEF% | CRIT Rate/DMG > ATK% > ER |
Goblet | GEO DMG | CRIT Rate/DMG > DEF% > ATK% |
Circlet | CRIT Rate/DMG | DEF% > ATK% > ER |
Flower | HP (fixed) | CRIT Rate/DMG > DEF% > ATK% |
Feather | ATK (fixed) | CRIT Rate/DMG > DEF% > ER |
Energy Recharge is surprisingly important - you want his burst up as much as possible! I aim for around 130-140% ER, which feels like the sweet spot in most team comps.
Wait, am I overthinking this? Maybe. But isn't min-maxing half the fun of Genshin? 🤔
Talent Priority: Everything Matters!
Unlike some characters where you can ignore certain talents, Itto needs ALL of his talents leveled up. They all contribute to his damage output in different ways:
-
Elemental Burst - Gives a massive ATK bonus and converts attacks to Geo
-
Normal Attack - Builds stacks and leads to those devastating charged attacks
-
Elemental Skill - Ushi may be small, but that bull packs a PUNCH
I triple-crowned my Itto last year and have zero regrets. His damage ceiling is just absurd when fully invested.
My Mono-Geo Team Comp
For maximum unga bunga damage, I run Itto in a mono-geo team:
-
Itto (main DPS)
-
Gorou (DEF buffer, absolutely essential)
-
Albedo (off-field damage + energy)
-
Zhongli (shield + resistance shred)
This team is basically immortal while still dealing ridiculous damage. The geo resonance plus Gorou's buffs make Itto hit like a truck on steroids.
Final Thoughts
After playing Itto since his release and through all the game updates until now in 2025, I'm still amazed at how this character can both tank and deal massive damage. His playstyle is straightforward but satisfying - build stacks, summon Ushi, burst, and watch everything die.
But I'm curious - with all the new characters that have been released since Itto came out, do you think he still holds up in the current meta? Or are there better options for geo DPS that I'm missing out on? Has anyone found a non-geo team where he actually shines?
Whatever your thoughts, I'll still be here, bonking enemies with my favorite oni for years to come! 💪
