Just got my hands on Xilonen, and omg she's completely changing how I think about Geo characters in Genshin Impact! As someone who's always struggled with fitting Geo into my teams, I'm absolutely blown away by how versatile she is. HoYoverse has finally given us a Geo support that can actually work with multiple elements! 😍

The Roller Blade Queen

First thing I noticed about Xilonen is her unique movement style. Unlike other sword users who have those typical 4-5 hit combos, she only has three basic sword attacks. But that's because the real magic happens when her Nightsoul Blessing 'Blade Roller' kicks in!

When she enters this state, she swaps her sword for ROLLER BLADES and performs four different kick attacks! And get this - they scale with DEF, not ATK. That's huge for building her efficiently.

But the best part? Her roller blades aren't just for show - they actually let her climb steep mountains with ease. I took her to Natlan's most vertical peaks and zoomed up without breaking a sweat! Exploration just got way more fun. 🏔️

The Multi-Elemental Support We Needed

What really sets Xilonen apart is her Elemental Skill 'Yuhual's Scratch.' When she rushes forward with this skill, she doesn't just deal Geo damage - she reduces specific Elemental RES based on your team composition!

Here's how I've been using her:

  • With Pyro teammates: She reduces Pyro RES

  • With Hydro teammates: She reduces Hydro RES

  • Mixed teams: She reduces MULTIPLE resistances!

This flexibility is something we've never seen in a Geo character before. I've been running her with Hu Tao and Nahida (both getting reruns this patch btw), and the damage increase is noticeable. My reactions are hitting so much harder now!

Her Burst: Healing or Damage, You Choose

Xilonen's Elemental Burst 'Oceloticue Point' is where strategy comes into play. It deals AoE Geo damage that scales with her DEF stat, but here's where it gets interesting:

If you have at least two different elemental Source Samples changed, she periodically heals your active characters. This has saved my team countless times in Spiral Abyss runs!

BUT if you prefer damage over healing, you can run her with fewer than two samples, and her burst damage increases significantly. I've seen her hit for 40k+ with a good DEF build and the right setup! 💥

Building Xilonen: My Early Findings

After testing different builds, here's what's working best for me:

2pc Husk + 2pc Archaic Petra Primordial Jade Cutter

I'm still experimenting, but stacking DEF% seems to be the way to go since both her Nightsoul attacks and burst scale off DEF.

Why Xilonen Changes Everything for Geo

For the longest time, Geo has been stuck in this weird place where it doesn't react with other elements in meaningful ways. That's why characters like Zhongli and Albedo are used mostly for their utility rather than elemental synergy.

Xilonen completely flips this paradigm. She's the first Geo character who actively boosts your elemental reactions by reducing enemy resistances to multiple elements. This means she can slot into almost ANY team comp and provide value.

I've been running her in:

  • Vape teams with Hu Tao

  • Bloom teams with Nahida

  • Mono Geo with Itto

  • Even tried her in a freeze comp!

And she performs well in ALL of them. That's unprecedented versatility for a Geo unit.

Is She Worth Your Primos?

If you're on the fence about pulling for Xilonen in 5.1, here's my honest take: If you enjoy flexible characters who can fit into multiple teams and provide both offensive and defensive utility, she's absolutely worth it.

She's not going to be the highest damage dealer on your team, but what she brings in terms of resistance shred, occasional healing, and exploration utility makes her an incredible support unit that will likely remain relevant for a long time.
