How to Unlock Natlan's Sharpshooter on Hand Achievement

You can’t even unlock Natlan’s daily commissions, let alone this specific one, until you finish two big prerequisites: the main Archon Quest Chapter V: Flowers Resplendent on a Sun-Scorched Sojourn and the side quest Red Hot Adventure!. Once those are done, head to Kathryne in Natlan’s main hub, talk to her, and wait for the daily reset. After that, you just have to keep refreshing your commissions until Sharpshooter on Hand shows up—it’s random, so it might take a few days, but trust me, it’s worth it.

When the commission finally pops, your first stop is the Stadium of Sacred Flames to talk to Zicheng. He’ll explain he needs photos for inspiration, but here’s the catch: he only tells you the main task. The side task is hidden, and you have to complete both the main and side tasks to get the achievement. The location for the photos is random, tied to three Natlan tribes: Scions of the Canopy, Children of Echoes, and People of the Springs. Let’s break down each variation so you know exactly what to do no matter which one you get.

Variation 1: Djembe Studios (People of the Springs Tribe)

This is the most common variation I’ve gotten, and it has two side tasks instead of one, so it’s easy to mess up. The main task is simple: take a photo of Djembe Studios within the allocated time. But before you snap that, make sure you change the in-game time to the required window—if you take the photo at the wrong time, it won’t count, and you’ll have to wait for the commission to come back.

Once you nail the main photo, you have to take two more photos of famous nearby stores and their signboards. The two locations are:

1. Xochicuicatl Records: Look for the NPC Pakaa Nui here—this is a small record shop right near Djembe Studios, so you won’t have to walk far.

2. Atlahua’s Net: Find the NPC Yelafath at this net shop, which is just a short walk from the first side task location.

Make sure both side task photos are taken within the same time window as the main task. Your camera frame will show a little checkmark if you’re taking the photo correctly, so keep an eye out for that.

Variation 2: Stage Tepetl (Children of Echoes Tribe)

This variation is a bit simpler, with only one side task. The main task is to take a photo of Stage Tepetl, the big open stage in the Children of Echoes tribe where NPCs hold dance battles. It’s diagonally across from the tribe’s reputation waypoint, so just fly over and snap the photo within the required time.

The side task is to take a photo of the large gemstone shop in the area. This is the same shop where the NPC Imix hangs out, so it’s easy to find once you know where to look. Head to the opposite side of Stage Tepetl, and you’ll see the big, colorful gemstone display. Make sure all the gems are visible in your photo, and take it within the same time window as the main task.

Variation 3: Courier’s Longhouse (Scions of the Canopy Tribe)

This is the easiest variation, in my opinion. The main task is to take a photo of Courier’s Longhouse, a big building in the Scions of the Canopy tribe. Just head to the tribe, find the longhouse, and snap the photo within the required time.

The side task is to take a photo of a huge mural near the main teleport waypoint in the area. Once you take the main photo, turn around from the waypoint, and you’ll see a big mural of a Yumkasaur. Take a photo of that mural within the same time window, and you’re done with the tasks.

Once you finish all the tasks for your specific variation, head back to Zicheng at the Stadium of Sacred Flames and talk to him. He’ll thank you for the photos, and then the achievement will pop. I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I finally got it after messing up the Djembe Studios variation twice—once because I forgot to change the time, and once because I missed one of the side task photos.

A few quick tips to make this easier: first, always check the required time for the photos before you leave Zicheng.
